Bio
Naomi Lord is a multidisciplinary artist working across large-scale installation, mixed media visual art and participatory theatre. Her practice explores cultural memory, collective care and the ways communities create resilience in the face of displacement and erasure. Through immersive environments, co-created artefacts and civic performance, she builds spaces that invite listening, reflection and shared action.
Originally from Greater Manchester UK, Naomi’s work is shaped by post-industrial landscapes and long-term community arts practice. Over the past several years she has developed a strong translocal connection with Cleveland, Ohio, collaborating with local partners through Ingenuity Cleveland and neighbourhood-based cultural initiatives. Her recent projects include A Paradise of Displacement (IngenuityFest 2025), a large-scale participatory installation foregrounding mutual aid and belonging, and Are We Not Strangers? (Cleveland Public Theatre, 2026), a civic performance experiment in storytelling and encounter.
Alongside installation work, Naomi’s visual practice includes exhibited mixed media and painting. Across all forms, her work centres community voice, experimental process and the creation of spaces where people can meet, remember and imagine futures together.
